How to Render Lard for Soap

To render lard for soap, slowly heat pork fat (preferably from pasture-raised pigs) over low heat until the fat melts and separates from any solids. Strain the liquid fat through cheesecloth and let it cool. Store in a clean container until ready to use in your soap recipe.
